Holy cow !
Adam, you nailed the species on the head !!
Thank you so much for taking the extra time to figure out the species for me.

Thank you sincerely Jan ! I'm sure I will find your post helpful. I will look into it further when I am not at my job. Happy to help! This is a great source of the most current scientific research, as it is being updated. Unfortunately the source is still quite crude, but useful just the same. Jan

I checked the original description and the correct name of the species is Polyura dehanii (Westwood, 1850) with two 'i's. Westwood actually called it Charaxes De Hanii but the species name is corrected to dehanii under the ICZN Code. The spelling is a bit surprising as it is named after De Haan, with two 'a's and I decided to check the spelling as it seems to be spelt several different ways here and elsewhere. The original descrption is available here: archive.org/stream/generaofdiurnall25052doub#page/308/mode/1upAdam.

If I was listing rare Polyura I would include P andrewesi from Christmas Island and P caphontis ssp from Natewa peninsula Fiji. Both missing in my collection.

I doubt P andrewsi will ever surface. P caphontis caphontis I have caught (albeit ratty condition) But the other ssp another matter.

There is a butterfly from Natewa that I would like but it's not a polyura.

What an amazing history! I wonder where it slots into the Charaxini Phylogenetic Tree? Thanks for posting the link.
