im no where near an expert when it comes to insects but i have a hive built on my balcony, i dont know why type of bees or hornets they are, i also want to know if they are harmful or not and if i can use their honey or not. imgur.com/jk6D2XPthank you. |

Indeed, what you have there is some species of social bee. Livingplanet3 may possibly be correct on the species.
Perhaps where you live you could get in touch with a beekeeper and he might very well remove the occupants (free of charge) since he may want to give them a proper space to make their hive in.
I would say do not bother the nest yourself because most Hymenoptera are capable of stinging and they will do so to protect the greater good of the hive.
Bees, are among the best of our insect friends as they pollinate untold numbers of flowers from which they produce honey.
Of course, not all types of honey are necessarily tasty because some is said to be bitter or have a funny aftertaste because of the kinds of flowers that some bees prefer.
Try your best to leave the nest alone and just seek out a professional to resolve your problem in a manner that does NOT harm the bees !

Try your best to leave the nest alone and just seek out a professional to resolve your problem in a manner that does NOT harm the bees ! the problem is i dont think we have a beekeeper or any professional for bees only like factories or stores who sell honey, also im in the middle east its a desert country, well not all of course but its main nature of kuwait is desert and where i live is all buildings and there is a small garden near by that belongs to a house so yes they built a hive on my balcony and im very high up from the ground too, so i think the only is for me to handle them but gotta learn how first |
