It is virtually impossible to identify Sphingid moths from the underside, they really need to be spread. Dave

Dave,exactlly,i will try and spread some of the sample soon and post again. Ruma,it is indeed a nice free e-book for ID some african Sphingidae,i collected it.

Tim, I am working on creating country by country checklists for African Sphingidae. I suspect it wil be several months before the thumbnail checklists for each country will be useful, but if you post the images of spread moths with wingspans, and whatever additional data that you might have (dates, more precise location, etc.) I wil try to help you with ids.

I can say that: 4 and 13 are Agrius convolvuli , 18 is Daphnis nerii, 20 and 21 are Euchloron megaera. The rest,yes,need to be spread for correct identification.
