The other day I was walking on the street and saw this on the pavement. I thought it was a small branch or something and just pushed it a little with my feet, then I was it was moving. It wasn't going anywhere as it was scared but it was moving. I took a close look and realized that his mouth was moving a little. It was like almost 10 centimeters long. Can someone please tell me what it is?? I live in Istanbul, Turkey and we don't have these type of insects here

It is a part of a beetle (Cerambycidae). The abdomen is missing. I don't know which Cerambycidae you have in Turkey, but I'm sure someone here will tell you which species it is.

This is half of a male Cerambyx cerdo (only the head and prothorax have remained, with also a small part of the mesothorax,as the middle pair of legs is present). Eaten most possibly by bird. You maybe saw the mandibles moving a little, cause the specimen was freshly partially eaten by the bird. C.cerdo occurs in most of Europe,as well as Turkey. You can find specimens in june and july mainly,in Quercus forests. They fly from mid-afternoon. Their larvae eat the wood of Quercus (mainly). The maximum size is around 55mm (10+cm you mean including the antennae, which are much longer in male than in female).

yes the 10 cm I was referring to was including the antennas. Never saw one before. I think because it didn't have the stomach part, it looked way more scary. Anyways, is it poisonous? or dangerous in any way?
