Please just direct me to the correct old thread if this already exists, I couldn't find it, but if not-
Would someone be kind enough to outline the general procedure for dealing with collecting abroad? I have never done it because I don't even know where to start in terms of getting permits from the destination country and the return (to the US). I am thinking of this oriented more towards Latin American countries but any example would be good. How do you even get in touch with a permitting agency in a foreign country? How long do insect permits usually take? What do I need to line up here in the US before I leave in order to make an efficient and fruitful return?
A brief list would be very appreciated, you can use an example of a country you have been to if that is easier.
