Soak it in acetone for at least one week and it will turn the acetone yellow then you need to repeat the process again and again untill the acetone stay clear, then it's ready to dry.

One other trick one can use is to prop open a bit the elytra with a toothpick piece. I pry open the middle seam where the the elytra meet and cut a 1cm piece of toothpick and stick it in causing the elytra to 'open' some. This space seems to make acetone penetration easier and more thorough eliminating repeat sessions.
