Funny thing is that your website popped up recently on a major German website as reference. They pointed out two (minor) problems which you may correct if you got the time to do so. The first one is a typo, I reference for a place called "Regionalpräsidium" but it actually is called "Regierungspräsidium" The second one is a "dead" link, this one here is better: www.wisia.de/wisia/index.en.htmlExcept for these two problems everything stated is correct. When I gave those informations I would never have believed that the site reaches that far one day to be discussed in other countries fora.

Thanks for those corrections! This permit page really is a team effort to keep accurate - It's amazing how fast websites change their links without connecting their old ones - half the links on the caribbean site are already dead and it's not that old!

The secret to that is wordpress - not me! I don't really know anything about coding beyond basic HTML - but the software is wordpress.org which runs on our "Southern Friend Science" network hosted by bluehost. It's a fairly simple platform to use, I just have to do the writing and photos and it pops magically into place. I've customized a lot of the color and sizes, but even that is pretty basic with the software package.

Chris, that's a fantastic resource and very well executed. I'm constantly trying to keep up with international shipping rules and regulations, so I know how difficult it is to keep up with. I've bookmarked this as I'm sure I'll visit it often. Kudos to you and your associates!

It is! But I moved a few months ago to my own server: www.theskepticalmoth.comI guess all of my old direct links won't work. The old page at southernfriedscience does at the least redirect you to my new page. Here is the new link for the Collecting Permits Page.As always - feedback is welcome!

Hi Chris, I don't know why my comment on your blog has disapeared.... Here are some informations about collecting in France : Protected insect species in France : www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichTexte.do?cidTexte=JORFTEXT000000465500&dateTexte=&categorieLien=idMoreover, collecting is prohibited in National Parks, Natural Reserves, some Natura 2000 areas, Biological reserves (in Fontainebleau forest, for example). Special laws for French departments and regions : Martinique : droitnature.free.fr/pdf/Arretes%20Ministeriels/Martinique/1995_0713_RegPrefMartinique.pdfÎle de France (region around Paris) : droitnature.free.fr/pdf/Arretes%20Ministeriels/Metropole/Protection%20Faune%20Flore/1993_0722_InsectesIDF_juillet2006.pdfLa Réunion : droitnature.free.fr/pdf/Arretes%20Ministeriels/Reunion/1989_0217_EspAnimalesReunion_f.pdfAbout Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyane, St Pierre et Miquelon, Nouvelle Calédonie, etc... : these are French territories, so, if there is no specific laws, this is the French law which have to be respected. No need to contact CRR. regards, Stéphane

seems not update as salamis is not included. An update 1993 seems to list more species (I didn't find an official link)
