Today I finally set a specimen I purchased from Peter in November 2011 for 175 euro. Yet another unwelcome surprise! The specimen is not the same specimen Peter offered me and I agreed to purchase! (A photo of a perfect large specimen was sent but the specimen received is much smaller and of lesser quality!).

As stated in my other previous post regarding Peter's dishonesty - do not trust him! As before, I can provide evidence beyond doubt regarding Peter's deception and dishonesty.

Note the current ad in the classifieds for

"Morpho theseus mazatecus ssp. nova (Jakubek & Fisher, 2008) NEW SPECIES, PARATYPE near A1 male - VERY RARE"

I'm not aware of this subspecies, and just checked with the systematic brains behind the butterflies of America website (Andy Warren) and he's never heard of it either. I'm guessing that it was is bogus or described in some newsletter that likely does not meet the code.

I have no doubt that someone will pay a couple thousand euros for a "new" bogus morpho... I feel bad for them.
