I went to florida about two years ago,, and went into a parking lot and found this, It is as long as a cell phone, and just as wide as one too, I have looked around a little online and i still dont know what it is, If anyone knows or has a guess please let me know ,, thanks! Attachments:

Being a "short wing" like that, The only thing I can think of being indigenous to Florida of that size would be a Southeastern Lubber (Romalea microptera). They get up to nearly three inches.

I concur, definitely Romalea microptera. It appears a bit lifeless though, and I don't think its hind tibia is supposed to be bent at that angle.

When i had found it, it was dying. I don't know what happened to it, but one of its legs was broke and it wasn't really moving much. Attachments:

likely someone stepped on it, it is common to find bugs on trails. Dead or dying bugs that have been troden on.
