It dissappointing to hear all these dubious reports on Forest Insect. Should I ban them from InsectNet? The only reason I haven't so far is that they have such incredibly nice stuff and their photos look genuine (not stolen). Not to mention that thay have their spelling and subspecies correct most of the time.
So please follow up on your reports so I can come up with some kind of verdict.

I got this week another parcel from them, but again 1 pair Butterflies worth 100US are not in the parcel. They wrote me this before I got the parcel, that they are still in another office and that they will send them soon..... So now I am waiting for 2 x 2 butterflies replacement from the past 2 parcels.I am trying not to spend tomuch $ on each parcel, so that I don´t loose to much incase they decide one day different to send me anything. It´s up to everybody to decide if you buy from them or not. Most quality is between A1 and A1- Robert

I think what is critical here is not the quality of specimens he advertises or correct spelling of specimens, but more the "quality" of the seller. His past history--numerous accounts of questionable business practices--says it all. Too much second-guessing of this supplier is enough to prevent me from doing any business with him.

After my posting alerts here about him, he sent me a funny complaint about his personal difficult life, and sent 180 specimens (out of 500 ordered) from a wrong location. Later, promised to send the rest on November 5th- it is the 9th now and he is not answering my emails. I am going to post another warning - the least one can do to stop his activities.

A brief update on my difficulties with Forest Insect S.A. This time the sphingids would not dry for 3 weeks! Post office rejected the parcel for this reason. Then the start of the field-work, so no mail replies. Today, after a fairly detailed description of how he fought the elements to get to his email, Augusto promised to send the order this weekend (the order was placed in March). What will he think of next?

And now the finale! For posting negative reports, dear "amigo" Augusto decides to "punish" me - this is his last emai: "Dear Sir: This topic ended today, you can put all the ads all over the internet does not interest me now sir This is my last email" Marvelous, isn't it? He stole about 500$ from me. AND he is still advertising here...

They should probably be banned from the classifieds. Shuey

I think the verdict is quite clear now, Clark. Ban this thief from InsectNet once and for all. Let him do his damage somewhere else....
