I am pleased to have received these chimaera chimaera specimens. The male has a slightly modified wing shape and a lovely golden colour and is quite different from the males I have from Aseki papua. The female shown is over 20cm and I did not believe the nominate race could get this large. Both were caught or bred by the late and great Ray Straatman and are from the Bismarck range in Papua 1972.
