It may not be much of a catch, but to a kid just getting into collecting, it was the catch of a lifetime. Many, many moons ago, we were visiting the grandparents in central California. One morning I got up early (more time to explore the overgrown almond farm) and spotted a HUGE Sphingidae of some sort on the screen door. I was flying high all day after hand catching that moth. Alas, I never ID'd it, and it has since been lost. I still have a soft spot for that group, and will raise and then then collect any hornworms that find themselves on my 'maters.
