A Lucanus cervus cervus caught in Sweden in the 60´s when it still was common and not protected. 92,3mm! I was 91mm before I lifted up the head and gained one extra mm. Attachments:

That is a huge, fantastic specimen! I have an 80mm male and now realise it is small.
Here in the UK they rarely get above 70mm in size. However, they are common where I live in SE London, I get lots in my garden in May.

Sweden, yes. The big male was collected in 1968. It´s protected in Sweden now,so no more collectings.... Thanks for the replies

People will do anything to sell their specimens. ;D ;D ;D I have this Lucanus cervus 84mm from Landes, France, the mandibles look more like akbesianus very elongated but it only has 4 segments on it's antennas. Attachments:

No I don't roll that way, its a nice specimen all the same.
I just wont buy from that particular seller again, I'm a good customer but ruthless in that I rarely give second chances. sorry for the thread hyjack btw
