He sent me an email saying that I sent him a fake tracking number. This is what he said, "parcel - RA757654667 - not registered in system?!" The tracking number I sent to him was RA757654667US. It clearly shows up in the USPS website. Please be careful of this man! This man should be avoided at all cost. Perhaps you should e-mail him and tell him to include the 'US' at the end, then he will find it in the tracking system if it has arrived in the Ukraine. It may take longer to be included in the system if Ukraine is anything like Russia. Also ASK him why you cannot find his tracking number, maybe he typed it wrongly originally? Ask him nicely and you might get somewhere ... if he is honest and there is a mistake somewhere. On the other hand, maybe he is a conman. You will know in the end if the parcel doesn't arrive, and there won't be much you can do about it apart from confirm your suspicions on Insectnet. Adam.

Yes I told him to put "US" at the end of tracking number.
I asked him several times to double check his tracking number. But he won't respond or give irrelevant answer whenever I ask that.
I told him to send the copy of receipt of the parcel. But he said he won't be back to Ukraine until February, 2014!
And he told me it was his family who sent the package for him.
So i told him to call your family and double check. But he won't respond all the sudden...
And I know there isn't anything can I do now. So..all I can do is to warn others about him in InsectNet...

That certainly doesn't sound too promising.

it's been 12 days now. still not registered in the system. he no longer replies my email. be careful of this man! The following is the information provided by my friend nosorog. "Here is his picture in 2009: old.vp.donetsk.ua/statya.php?vstat=2307His account on the main Russian entomological (and molecular biology forum too; it's very convenient for me, since I'm both; molbiol.ru/forums/) is 'Keydg'. He posts offers for exchange/sale from time to time there.

Greetings,
This may not help you, Joon, but I have had several parcels coming from Europe that have taken a month or more to arrive, and the tracking numbers were of no help. In one case, a parcel sent from Spain never appeared on the Spanish tracking system, despite the parcel having been given a tracking number, and that number being sent to me. Suddenly one day it appeared at my door, just fine, but never once showed up in the Spanish or USPS websites.
USPS tracking numbers become useless once a parcel leaves the borders of the United States, and cannot be tracked further unless they get logged into the recipient country's system. The USPS website will not track a parcel in a foreign country - only up to the point that it leaves the U.S. So USPS numbers often seem to "disappear" over the ocean. Not a very good system on either side of the ocean...
Cheers! Bob

Still hasn't arrived! definitely a crook. What a shame! I heard Yevgeny is a well known collector from the Palearctic region. He is an active member of russian molecular biology forum.
I no longer trust people from Ukraine! lesson learnt!

Yes I agree, you can't just arbitrarily label all Ukrainians (or any other nationality for that matter) as untrustworthy just because of a bad experience with one person. Of course there are certain countries or regions that have more dodgy insect dealers and scammers than others, but even those countries have honest dealers too.

I am reminding you that Evgeniy Levchenko is a crook. He's posted "Guinness size Batocera kibleri" in the Classifieds.

If it's like a Guinness it should be almost black in colour with a large white head. Adam.

I have had packages arrive over 60 days after being mailed from overseas locations. Don't give up yet, though I agree not responding to your E-mails is not a good sign. As others have said here, tracking numbers on either end are generally useless, never found them to be useful, but then I've only tried using them for 60 years.

Vernon, this happened 2 years ago to my friend. I believe he gave up receiving that package a long time ago. The tracking number provided by the crook has never showed up in the system. Tracking numbers are great and have been working very well for me. It's a useful tool. I bet they are much better now than 60 years ago I wonder how they worked 60 years ago?
