This should be Lycaena phlaeas phlaeas (Linnaeus, 1761) like in most parts of Europe. The taxon eleus (Fabricius, 1798) is a synonym of phlaeas (Linnaeus, 1761), the type localities are stated as "Germania" and "Sweden". Lycaena phlaeas phlaeas is just a very variable taxon and therefore lots of bogus names saw the light. The stated differences become all unreasonable when you compare them to specimen like abbottii (Holland, 1892), arctodon Ferris, 1974, chinensis (Felder, 1862) or hypophlaeas (Boisduval, 1852). Lycaena phlaeas abbottii (Holland, 1892), female, Kenya. Lycaena phlaeas chinensis (Felder, 1862), female, North Korea. Lycaena phlaeas hypophlaeas (Boisduval, 1852), female, New Jersey.
