Many thanks Paul for your sharing your experience and information. I will try as here in the tropics, pest is a real issue for conservation, also for the home/house environment management, looking to children, etc... Thierry

Hi all,
Just to complete our last talks about the cedar oil efficiency, I'd like to share this recent experiences with you. I bought the PCO product (CEDARCIDE) and I organised two trials, with live dermestids I kept in a plastic box for this purpose:
Trial number one : into a plastic box I put about 20 dermestids alive, and a piece of paper towel in a corner, with 10 drops of dilution 1/50 of PCO. At the beginning, the dermestids were walking around, but after one hour, they were all confined to the opposite corner of the product. However, after 24 hours, they started to move again and they were not killed at all.
Trial number two : into another plastic box, I put a lot of dermestids with larvae and pupae, with a paper tower under cover with about 10 drops of dilution 1/10 of PCO. After 48 hours, about 80% of the dermestids are killed, but the other ones are still moving and try to escape by climbing and dissimulate under the plastic cover.
Conclusion : the REPULSIVE effect is very important, that's a very good point. And the smell is not so strong, quite pleasant in the office to be honnest (even if my wife doesn't agree with me on this point....). The KILLING effect is not confirmed and needs more investigations. BUT....as I've opened the box three times to check the results at 12 h, 24H and 48H, of course the fumes went out and allowed the dermestids to take a breath !....So I will need further test by using the same dilution, and about 10 drops on the towel, and I will not open the box until 48 hours to see the results. I think they should be all killed by this way. I will organise this and tell you.
However, Paul and other members, thank you very much for your advices, this product (organic one) is really impressive and seems to be a very good tool for all of us to maintain our collections far from parasites.
Best wishes
Thierry
