Has anyone done business with this person? Supposedly she is from Cleveland, Ohio and is offering Actias isis, dubernardi and selene cocoons at very cheap prices. The problem is that when I contacted "her", she would only take a Monegram Xpress Card as payment, and could not even provide photos of the cocoons.

I think the cheap price is the give away as I recently discovered from a similar seller in Indiana so walk away.

She wanted me to send Moneygram to Mary Ann Flicker in Indiana. Googled her and found a nice entry on the scamming she has been involved in. These people are trouble.

Somehow I thought Mary Ann Flicker would be somewhere in the frame. That name (not sure if she's a real person or not) is involved in so many scams, you'll never see any cocoons.
Adam.

It's a very good reason why I don't buy specimens anymore. Jeff Prill

I sent Pamela a scathing email filled with many choice words. Just got a reply saying she was very sorry and promised not to try and scam me again. I'm sure...

Stop being such duds. Have fun with these people. Fun makes life wonderful. Tell them you will only pay in cash and they must meet you in Montana to pick up the thirty thousand dollars in specimens you will be purchasing from them. Enjoy life more by having fun with scammers. I do it all the time.

These scammers must have been successful somewhere down the line because they keep trying. Their MO is always the same: Mary Ann Flicker and always asks for a MoneyGram. I appreciate this forum for the opportunity to try and sift through it all. I also enjoy making the scammers lives miserable. Thanks again for the post.

It looks like "Linda Klain" is the next one trying to scam offering incredible moth species in cocoon form at cheap prices right here in the US! This person is persistent!

What these scammers fail to realize is that it is ILLEGAL to possess or sell non-native insect livestock under US laws anyway! But don't tell them that. It is a dead giveaway to spot them if they claim to be from the USA.

Ebay had listings with the seller in the USA of Acherontia sp. (Death Head Moths). This person may have actually had them. They were removed and he now only sells dead ones.
I did find a kid who was breeding Atlas moths on the East Coast of the USA. I don't think he is doing it anymore though. While not legal, they are not always trying to scam.

None were in your classifieds. The Atlas kid had an old website that had not been updated for years.

I think Pamela just morphed into Haskel Jack (via Mary ann Flicker). Haskel Jack is from Dayton - Miss Flicker's home twown. I grew up in Ohio, and live about 50 miles out from Dayton. I don't know everyone in the Lep world, but I'm pretty sure this is a scam.
