I have no pest strips and I wondered if they could be used to kill a hive of Yellow Jackets located in a cavity above a bay window. Could a hole be drilled and a no-pest-strip inserted and then plugged? Do you think this would kill the hive? What other methods would work better?

I have read them, do you mean the hole would be difficult to drill because they would come out it? I envisioned one small hole where thin, long strips of the Dichlorvos could be inserted.

I don't think it will do beans.
The most fun way is to place a bug zapper (powered OFF) one-half meter from the nest entrance. At dusk, get a beer then turn on the bug zapper. Enjoy the show. Might have to repeat one more time, but the show won't be as good.

The hive was taken care of with carburetor cleaner and sevin dust.
