Narrowing to genus is very helpful to me as there is a good Canadian government website but browsing thru hundreds of photos is very time consuming . Paul

I have spent up to three hours researching a insect species before.

Look for the Genus Agrochola,I think maybe you have one in the second photo, now I´m trying too to determinate various Noctuidae from Spain and I´m getting crazy with some of them.

I am currently removing specimens from spreading boards, ID'ing them and placing them in my collection. Once I complete my current effort, I will tackle your specimens.
BBAGM's are always fun!!

I was hoping for this as you are one of the best here in this field ( except of course Mr.Brou ) . So far I determinate few of them: photo one: 1. Mythimna unipuncta photo two: 1.Apamea inordinata. 2.Agrotis gladiaria. 3,6. Orthosia hibisci. 4.Sunira bicolorago. 9.Feralia major Confirmation of those would be needed too I guess. Rest of them I have no clue.

Cudo's Rayrard, on your knowledge of all these Noctuid "browns" or " brownies" as I like to call them. I don't collect stuff like this as there are simply too many of them and (id's / dets.) using most books can be frustrating and difficult. I have but, a few I've collected over time because their color shades or patterns caught my eye. Great work.

[ Hello Leroy Any chance you could take a look on my moths? For some reasons I believe you’re the best expert here and your determination would be final on my data labels. Greatly appreciate and thank you in advance. Paul

Here is my best shot. I have seen most of these and have many, but not all, in my collection.
Plate 1
Row 1 Rowc2
1. 10438 Mithimna unipuncta 5. 10513 Egiiro dolosa
2. 9364 Apamae unamimis/sordes (1) 6. 9362 Apamea indocillis
3. 9910 Lithophanw antennata 7. 9957 Sunira bicolorago
4. 10996 Cerastis salicarum 8. 10676 Feltia herilis (2)
Plate 2
1. 9353 Apamea inordinate 6. 10495 Orthosia hibisci
2. 10648 Agrotis gladiaria 7. 9364 Apemea sordens
3. 10495 Orthosia hibisci 8. 10812 Euxoa bosteniensis (3)
4. 11010 Lycophotia phyllophora 9. 10007 Feralia major
5. 10524 Nephelodes miniana 10. 10903 Anicila illapsa
Notes
1.) These two species are extremely close, they are probably a single species. They need some DNA work!
2.) This is an oddly marked individual, The center dash is the giveaway.
3.) I have several specimens confirmed by Lafontain. They match mine.
If someone disagrees with these ID's, please let me know. Unlike several others here, I do not know everything.
Please do not tell that to my wife!
