Hello there, I confess to begin with that my interest in insects is principally just part of my interest in flora and fauna generally. However, recently I have become fascinated by the behaviour of the Death's Head Hawk Moth and its larvae, and leaves me with a series of questions which I'm hoping can be answered here. Is there a section here which would be appropriate if I start a thread on it? Thanks you in advance Hello Grassfan Best place to open discussions would be in Lepidoptera section. Please use scientific name Acherontia atropos as it will be better recognize around our international community here. Cheers Paul

Hello! I've been an insect enthusiast since I was very young. If it isn't already clear, I'm a new member. I'm into all orders, but my favorites are Lepidoptera, Mantodea, and Odonata.

Hi! I registered in here because I seek help. I’m about to make a post explaining my issue and showing a video so someone can help me identify the insect I’m dealing with. I also find insects very interesting to study so I’ll stick around here a little, even after my problem is resolved.
Best regards!

I'm Kevin. I began with a net and killjar back in the 70's. Used to wander our usual campsite on summer nights, visiting all the electric bug zappers for moths and beetles. Studied in Mexico in the mid 90's and came back with abstract art that was supposed to be photographs of all the wonderful insect fauna that I enjoyed there. Bought a real camera to replace that Vivitar point and shoot. Been on a photographic journey now for 25 years.
