You are a new member here, please tell us more about you and your insect passion. Hello! I am living on the Canary Island La Palma since a few months. We bought a Finca with 8000 m2 and did start planting trees, flowers and vegetables. As the country is new for us we do encounter lots of species which are unkown to us. So we hope that we can get some help from you!

Hi everyone, I'm Hannelore, a Belgian now in West London. I started pinning butterflies about 3 years ago and created my brand a little while later - I now create insect domes/frames/artworks full time. It very much started out as a visual endeavour for me so I'm discovering new things every day. Eager to learn more about the scientifics and different pinning/relaxing techniques etc. I'm also always looking for new reliable suppliers around the world so have already done a bit of reading up on the forum . Nice to meet everyone!

Hello, may name is Janet from Michigan. I'm here because I'm looking for an answer about pill bugs. I'll start a thread to get a range of answers. I do like the diversity in the insect world and love observing their lives.

Hi to everyone, My name is Mijas and I live in England. My main interest is European butterflies. I would like to communicate with fellow enthusiasts who share the same interest and particularly those who are still involved in field studies. Cheers Mijas.

Lifelong collector and amateur lepidopteran. European butterflies, especially limenitis, parnassius, charaxes. Have gradually been turning towards conservation, which means the net has been replaced by a camera. I am still very passionate about field studies and sensible collecting. Also, I am a writer and a historian. PAGE

Hi, I'm a casual fan of insects with very little knowledge. I've been finding a bunch of interesting insects I know nothing about around my home lately and thought I'd join to post photos of them and learn from y'all. Just by perusing, I've already learned of a few who didn't appear on my local common insect guide that I've seen around. Thanks for the awesome forum!

Hi everyone, I am an elementary school teacher and a mom of three from Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. During the past few years, my family has worked on planting and maintaining a butterfly garden and increasing the biodiversity of our own backyard. Along that vein, this summer my animal-loving middle son (9) has decided to write his own nature guide to our backyard, detailing all the different types of creatures we have found here. He has tasked me with photographing them all and helping identify them. Birds and mammals weren't too hard to figure out, but insects are proving to be a challenge. I'm hoping someone here can help ID some of the insects in my photos.

Here on the Texas gulf coast. New to pinning and collecting. Not new to exploring the woods looking for insects for hours at a time.
