Oh, hi! Okay I got a message to pop a reply on here and even though it's automated I want to comply with the rules so hello!
I'm mostly just here to ask about a possible bug I saw, but I do like insects a lot!! I have no formal (or informal) training in bug sighting or identification or anything but I've always thought insects were really cool and deeply underrated
Now that I know this forum exists I might stick around to mostly lurk and try to learn what the heck all these scientific terms everyone's using are lol but it's really rad that this exists and if I knew what I was doing or talking about I'd be here all the time!

Hello,I'm from New York and have had a couple of pet mantids, I'm here for advice on pinning insects (beetles specifically) as the internet and the few book I've looked into are sparse on the subject.

I have been collecting for 10 years and I have had the opportunity to meet wonderful and emdemic butterflies as well as raise them

hi there! i'm sid, mid-twenties, living in north texas. i'm very interested in entomology- i love and am fascinated by bugs and insects of all types, and not just the pretty ones haha. however, mostly i've created this account to get some help identifying any little guys in our household we might stumble across! thanks in advance btw!

My daughter just sent me a photo of an insect outside her window. She hates bugs and is always asking me about them.
As I know next to nothing on this subject I found this site and hope to use it to identify things she asks me about.
I have to admit, I will not tell her about joining here and let her just be amazed at my knowledge.

Hello to everyone! I could wax poetic and ramble on about all my favorite tiny critters for hours, but I think it'd be better to simply say that I'm a fan of just about every single one of them, from the average to the ridiculous to the spectacular!
(I certainly do have my favorites, though.)
I'm usually pretty good at identifying familiar bugs and the likes, but as of late, I've been inspecting my corner of the world closer than ever, and I feel like I might just need a hand in figuring some of my observations out.
Here's to all you stellar folks that I'll have the pleasure and honor of meeting!
