I know this can be a touchy subject. I think some of you know or have heard this tale. How ever, I have a friend, Phillip, who collected a Bilateral Grand gynandromorph of a Pterourus glaucus. LH yellow male. RH Black female. An absolutely stunning specimen. I saw it the day it was collected.
He spread it with five other Pterourus glaucus. Two yellow male first, the gynandromorph in the middle and followed by two yellow females.
After filling the board, rather that putting it away, he left it on his desk top. During the night, he had a little visitor, a mouse. You guessed it, he only ate one butterfly. The one It the middle.
A year or so later Betty and I had Phil and Peggy over for dinner. This is when I learned what happened. Peggy claimed that since that day, Phil has killed 10,000 mice and then some. He also destroyed every Micky Mouse DVD, their vacation photos to Disney World and trashed all the mouse's for the computers in his home. Peggy said they cannot buy or eat cheese.
I would say Phil has a slight dislike of mice.
