I have been out of Commission for the past 12 days. I have a health issue that has affected my life style and bought most things I do to a halt.
I am okay. However, my doctor wants me to slow it way down and take it easy for the next four to six months.I am taking my doctors advise. I have collected and taken down all my Bait Traps. The lone exception is the one in my back yard.
We have four inches of snow on the ground and I am more or less house bound.
I shall recover. Working on my collection, reading and not doing much of anything else.
Wish me luck. I will survive.

We all wish you full recovery and getting back on track next season. Winter is a good time to take it easy as not much is happening outside.
All the best Paul

December 29 the day time temperature was 58°F. At 1AM on December 30 the temperature was a balmy 12°F. Just a tad bit chilly. Along with the cold temperature, we received 4 inches of snow. I went and checked my Bait Traps. Several Lithophane unimoda and a very nice female of Lithophane innominata. I mounted the female of Lithophane innominata.
I have a perforated Campbell's soup can wedged between some branches of a smaller tree with some leaves and bark inside. This is where I leave unwanted specimens from the Bait Trap. I seldom find any of the moths I place in the can during my next visit. I have thought about marking them to see how many return to the trap again after departing my soup can.
Just curious.

The high temperature in Aurora, Ohio was 61°, the current temperature at 9PM is 54°. I saw a moth flying across the road in my headlights. I will be checking my Bait Traps in the morning.

Now I remember why I originally departed from Ohio to Florida in 1988. There is 14 inches of the stuff sitting on my yard, house, driveway, my car and even the top of a bait trap in my back yard. This should be a curse word, SNOW.......!
Come on Spring!!

Back on 29 December 2019, I collected a number of Lithophane moths. Unbeknownst to me, one is a State Record for Ohio: Lithophane semiusta. I removed it from a spreading board yesterday and it took me some time to make the determination. I need to photograph it and post a photo. It is a rusty orange color. A gorgeous moth.

Went out and serviced my four Bait Trap in the Mantua Wetlands. I replaced the bait in one and added bait and water to the other three. I also set out two more Bait Traps in a heavily wood area to the southwest of Aurora.
Tomorrow I will travel to the Grand River WA (Wildlife Area)in Trumbull County and set out several Bait Traps. Although I explored the Grand River WA last year in October, I did not collect anything. This area is in the Lake Erie (Great Lakes) water shed. This area of the North East Ohio was covered by the Glacier. However, I do not believe there will be much of a difference in the number of species of Lepidoptera. The Mantua Wet Lands Area are in Cuyahoga River drainage which also flows into Lake Erie.
Do any of you know or understand the water way systems (Rivers, Creeks and Wetlands) in your area?

I just returned from checking my Bait Traps. This Beer Virus has reduced the traffic by 80% (My opinion). There was absolutely no traffic. I did not encounter many cars. Law Enforcement was very visible.
The Mantua Wetlands were devoid of humans. The walking pathway was empty. Not one person did I see.
It appears that America is hunkering down. I think our economy will take a serious hit.
I read a post on another List, they claim the Democrats and the Democrats are blaming Trump for the beer virus. Just wait until there is a TP shortage. I only have 16 rolls. Then again I ain't full of it like some of you.
