Welcome lianj, P. elwesi was discovered relatively recently in northernmost Vietnam. It is only found in Hagiang Province, and I have a specimen collected in April 2006. I am not sure whether the occurrence of this species in Vietnam has yet been formally included in a publication. It was not included in Monastyrskii's 2007 book on Vietnam Papilionidae, but several species which occur in Hagiang are missing from that book. My specimen is illustrated here: yutaka.it-n.jp/pap/10245001.htmlAdam.

I have just found relevant literature which maybe can prove that P.elwesi is distributed in Vietnam. If you are interested, you can also take a look. doi.org/10.15625/0866-7160/v36n4.6176 Thanks again!!!!!

lianj, Thank you for the link, which I am sure will be of interest to readers of this thread. I actually have a copy of this paper already, but forgot about it. I had also forgotten the name of the locality in Hagiang Province, Dong Van. Hagiang is an interesting area of Vietnam, because it is more related in habitat to southern China than the rest of Vietnam. Adam.
