I recently took a chance on a small business called Atelier Insecta. I met them at the Oddities and Curiosities market in New Orleans. They offered me their wholesale list, and the prices were very reasonable. I place a order with them on 10/8/20 and received on 10/16/20 Everything was packed very well and I received exactly what I ordered, with exception to what was not in stock. Shipping was fair for US, but I do not recommend their foreign shipping as it looks quite $$$ if you live overseas. Their list is small but great for framers like me who don't import. I highly recommend them. You can request there list at: atelierinsects@gmail.com

Arrgghhh....day late and few dollars short!
I just received the Cornell kit from Bioquip which works out to $31.52 per drawer, plus glass at roughly $6 each. Atelier has the same Cornell drawer, built, for $27 !!!
For what the Bioquip pine KIT cost me, I could have got complete poplar drawers with Plastazote pinning bottom.
And it took two months for Bioquip to deliver!
Again....Arrrghhhh....one more time....Arrrggghhhh!

Tell them they should advertise here, they will get plenty of customers. If they had, they would have had a customer. Instead, I have Cornell drawer sides spread throughout the garage waiting for stain to dry. So I can can hit them with Poly. Then go buy glass. Then assemble. And wait for the glue to dry. Then cut pinning bottoms. Did I say...AAAaaarrghhhhh? Chuck

Chuck I am waiting on an order from Bioquip too going on 2+ months, but I think Atelier Insecta mentioned here is different from Atelier Jean Paquet who makes the drawers and is based in Quebec.

Everyone's experiences are going to be different. I try and avoid recommending anything or anyone, just because of that. Now and then I've posted good trades in the classifieds, the last time I got an error message which I think has been corrected, but I'm not sure if Michael Wilson needs any testimonials, but it's nice to read something positive.
I've never had an issue with Bioquip, one time cases were back ordered because the wood had some issue, another time a riker mount arrived broken and they sent a free replacement, it all depends on timing, what you're buying and especially now with the world turned on its head. They did do an awesome job fixing one of my collecting lights, and it was very reasonable.
I certainly have sympathy for back orders, usually because the buyer is the last to know- unless you include some note about the possibility. Depending on your payment method and the billing of the seller, this can tie up your money. I have an item related to my other hobby, paid for in June of '19, still on "preorder", luckily billing is in my favor until it ships.

According to Bioquip, the delay was due to a flood of orders when they offered free shipping in August. My beef, which I explained on the phone to them a month later, that there had been no communication concerning the delay.
Overall, I like Bioquip, I like the people, and it's the "easy button" for procuring a wide variety of entomological products.
That said, waiting for two months was a real PITA, disrupting collation tasks.

I used to order in the past from Bioquip but once they tried to charge me $57.00 shipping of few hundreds pins , when I asked if they are shipping from the Moon they discount 50%, I cancelled and since then I only order directly from entosphinx ( pins ). Very good quality, inexpensive and shipping from EU cost $7.00 only.

Great to know about your positive experience. As far as BioQuip, yes they have a great selection of supplies when what you order is not backordered forever. They are slow to ship , talk a great game and whine about everything and they are expensive in regards to shipping. Having said that it’s a dilemma as they do carry quality products.

I have used their #2 black enamel pins exclusively for 15+ years and I love them. I usually find a couple other people to order with, and we get 10,000 pins at a time. The cost is $30us/1,000 pins, and shipping is very reasonable. John

I asked for unfinished, Cal Academy drawers. They came in great shape, made of poplar. And the price was about 25% less than BioQuip kits. I met Leroy in a parking lot halfway between his place and mine - perhaps a Waffle House.... John
