Possible Bed Bugs?

My wife was eating breakfast this morning, after complaining of being bitten by something last night.  While eating breakfast, I heard her saw "EWWW!" and that a bug had fallen on to the plate after scratching her neck.  Note: she had just gotten out of bed.  

I took some pictures. To clarify, I squished the bug right away and tried to wash it off the plate.  It was floating in the water on the plate when I took these pictures.
