Hey Papilio guys,
Here's a P. multicaudata f. fletcheri female reared out a few years ago from far western Nebraska stock.
Enjoy, Alex

Such "forms" emerge when they torture chrysalis alive: freeze and fry it, or vice versa. The survivors look abnormal, just like this... (I came across similar "forms" of humans several times...:^)).

Here's an aberration of P. machaon from Modena area, N Italy that emerged recently. Note that it was not exposed to any extremes of temperature, and in fact several similar aberrations have emerged from the same batch of pupae along with normal specimens. Adam. Attachments:

I have some machaon extreme abberants from Germany, circa 1901, I doubt if they knew about cold schocking back then... John Attachments:

another form, really old specimen. John Very nice, here's my specimen of the same type of aberration which I accidentally bred here not so many years ago. Some would say 1989 is ancient, I guess. Adam. Attachments:

Beautifull specimen, yours is even lighter in markings! I saw a papilio multicaudata pusillus female, exactly like your machaon. The specimen was sold for 3000EUROS, took 5 mins.!!!!! This multicaudata abberation was also a AI net capture from British Columbia. John
