I agree these are likely to be moths. These appear to be pupal cases, with the empty brown pupal skins sticking out.
Please can you tell us where in the world you are, it will help with identification.

They look like the cocoons of some form of clothes moth, pantry moth, meal moth. As one would expect, these eat a variety of household foods from pancake mix to woolen garments. I doubt you have food in the attic, but I'll bet you have old wool clothes or old wool blankets (which now have holes).
