I found this bug on a car 11 years ago in West Virginia, and this is the only picture I have of it. All identification tools and apps have failed. Any idea? It was a pretty big bug, IIRC, maybe 3 cm in diameter.

that is weird looking. It sort of looks like the creature has four legs on one side, which would mean it's an arachnid, not an insect,
I suppose it depends on which end is the head, I wouldn't count on those black beads being the eyes.
It also looks like it has a crack in the top "shell", it might be something that uses found material as camouflage.
