Hello, I found this insect in Japan (Kanagawa prefecture) in the mountains close to the sea during the summer (September). Size was between 1 to 2 cm. It was turquoise colored with a pink lining on its wings. Really curious to what it is. Anyone knows? The first picture shows the real colors while the second one shows a sharper picture.

What you are looking at is a flatid planthopper (Family: Flatidae / Order: Homoptera).
If you need more information about these then just look up the family name and the internet will elaborate.

Hi akatakajapan
It's Geisha distinctissima. It's Japanese name is Aoba-hagoromo(アオバハゴロモ). You can find the species even in parks in central Tokyo.
