Hopefully the person concerned about scam ads will gravitate over here, where the topic is more relevant. I don't know why Actias has less scam, or at least fewer obvious ones, and the ones here at Insectnet are screaming obvious red flag bomb bursts. Ads with no prices, impossible species. I do see issues come up at Actias now and then, usually it's arguments between 2 individuals. The site has tried to limit scamming ads by charging for new accounts posting ads, but I think either there were a lot of forward thinking persons who made accounts before this policy, or simply pay the fee, presumably using funds from some other dubious enterprise, or on the assumption that they'll be able to fool someone. New moderators have been added, and I am sure, as I've read before, that most scam ads get shot down before we see them. Is it annoying? Sure. Just like robocalls, it only takes one risk taker to encourage these keyboard criminals to continue. A least in the old days, you had to go to an alley to get mugged, now, it happens on your laptop.
So- potential scammers, you are out of your element and nearly everyone using this site can see right through you.

Actias has a moderated sales board. InsectNet does not.

Insectnet does moderate... we remove some scammers every month. It is not that easy though as sometimes I am away. (I am just back from 2 weeks in French Guiana). I guess scammers are targetting the biggest website that's why we may have more issues than on Actias. Not so sure. kevinkk : please post a link towards dubious ads so that we can check them faster. Would be more efficient.

My comment was in response to a post in the classifieds, I've more or less given up on worrying about scam ads, they're usually pretty obvious, except for an insult to the collective intelligence, I think there are bigger fish to fry in our lives.
