Hey lads,
I don't know if there even is a way to undo this, but all my beetle soil packs are infested with fungus gnats to the point where I can't work freely in my own room. There's too many and they're getting into my bioactive terrarium too.
I have a mesh cover on each beetle box so they can't get out of those, but it doesn't change the fact that the actual raw soil I have is also infested. So each time I add more/change the soil they return tenfold.
The only two ways I can think of to correct this would be boiling water on the infested soil or shoving it in the oven. But would that lower the nutritional value of the soil? Both oak wood and leaf litter is infested. I don't want to do one of these methods and risk ruining the perfect soil. It was store bought from beetle breeders.
Any thoughts?
