My latest paper was published on December 31st. I have just received a pdf today, and can provide a copy for personal use on request.
Cotton, A.M., Hu, S-J. & Y. Inayoshi 2021. Issues with Papilio bianor gladiator Fruhstorfer, [1902] and ganesa Doubleday, 1842 (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae). Butterflies, 87: 39-45.
Abstract:
Papilio bianor from northern Vietnam is shown to belong to the nominate subspecies, thus necessitating a change of name for the subspecies previously known as gladiator Fruhstorfer, [1902] to triumphator Fruhstorfer, 1902. To resolve potential nomenclatural problems a neotype is designated for the taxon Papilio ganesa Doubleday, 1842.
To clarify, gladiator becomes a synonym of nominate bianor, and triumphator is the valid name of the subspecies from NE India to Laos.
Note that several other SE Asian subspecies, namely significans, stockleyi and pinratanai are not discussed in this paper, as they are not problematic.
Adam.
