So as not to disappoint those enthusiasts with a passion
for the more "gnarly" looking yet beautiful (in their own
right) armored warriors of the insect realm; I offer up
the following...













These are just some of the species highlights of the 
family (Lucanidae). They are quite popular in the hobby
and many enthusiasts are absolutely "rabid" about them.

They offer a lot of worldwide variety, some pleasing color
combinations, and of coarse the most exaggerated mandibles
found across any one group.

These photos show just a few of the fine examples acquired
over the years by myself and that of a friend.
