Victoria, Australia. I washed my dogs and about 5-8 of these bugs came off them. They don't jump. I have searched for hours online trying to identify them the closest thing was a nymph German cockroach but there wasn't a link to why they would be on my dogs. Or maybe a spring tail, but that doesn't quite fit either. One of my dogs is very itchy at the moment, which he gets seasonal allergies but it's much worse this year and so I'd love to know If this bug is contributing to it. Thankyou! As for allergies - yes, some kinds of roaches do cause an allergic reaction in some people, and it wouldn't be surprising if some dogs were sensitive to them as well, since dogs have many of the same allergies as humans.
