This was taken in my house in Malaysia. According to my search, this is a plaster bagworm, the offspring of moths but there have been no appearance of adult moths in our house and neither have been places in our house where moths can mate undisturbed. These crawling things just don't stop appearing again and again so our house can be considered infested with them.

They are every where around here too (Chiang Mai, Thailand). The moths are only about 3-5mm across so it is likely that you never noticed them. The larvae live inside the bags (one in each) and eat basically invisible 'stuff' on the surface of walls, floors etc that they crawl across.
