I've been wondering if there is a way to inform other breeders about successes with food plants that haven't been recorded. I'd consider success bringing larva to maturity. For instance- I've raised Hyalophora cecropia on peach. Or is it just TMI?

I'm sorry Adam, I thought I'd throw out one of those head scratching abbreviated words I see here now and then. Too Much Information

I think that is a fascinating aspect of breeding. To breed something on a food plant that one would never imagine the larvae would find acceptable.
Maybe kevin, just change the title of your thread to "Odd larval food plants" or (something like that) and I am sure others will join in on the topic.

It is fascinating, and the reverse is also an interesting issue, except of course when you're expecting your animals to accept a recorded plant, and they die without taking a bite. I know about regional preferences, so there's that, but I've been discussing this issue with someone on the Actias site, and we are both attempting to rear the same species, my larva are taking, at least for now, unrecorded plants, it remains to be seen how it turns out, as things are just getting going. One thought was that it's the environment of the source plant, it does seem a daunting task to record all variables.
