For all those enthusiasts and/or fascinated observers of Tiger Beetles (Cicindelinae) there is a NEW book out concerning a region of the U.S. Recently, whilst on holiday in Florida I spotted this copy at a Barnes/Noble bookstore. Now, don't get me wrong in that perhaps some of you may already be aware of it but, hey to me its new because I've never seen it before. Anyway, leafing through it I can say it looked to be a very nicely done selection with lots of information, good pic's, as well as maps. A great field guide for those with a penchant for these lovely and engaging beetles !

Regarding tiger beetles, I don't make an effort to collect these, but I have captured over 10,000 adults, most all in my light traps over the past half century. I have only captured about 29 species for my state of Louisiana. I say that realizing I am not a coleopterist. Here is an old photo of one of my Cornell drawers holding 1200 specimens.

Vernon,
I think that is an "amazing" accomplishment having collected 29 species from your regional collecting.
And to think you picked up all of those as "collateral" captures...
