Here is another interesting book that I ran across a year ago. Written by an entomologist who has spent these last 25 (or more years) testing and evaluating the sting (pain) levels, effects, and bodily responses produced by assorted venomous insects. This book discusses everything from his early beginnings of this (tangent) interest to numerous personal insights including a table listing subject species tested, descriptive pain summaries, and a "pain scale". I imagine that someone (at some point) in time would have undertaken such an endeavor as it stands to reason that we as humans always seem to make "comparisons" regarding everything in life. The book is certainly curiously entertaining to read. So, if odd topics within our science appeal to you then a copy of this book may just be the thing for you !
