What is the general focus of everyone's collection- I know we all get sidetracked (or do we?)- but what parameters govern your collecting?
My focus- I have a few I am basically inventorying. Everything I can find within the bounds of some specific areas I frequent that I find particularly interesting (and free to collect in).

My focus to collecting is simple. Building a large and comprehensive collection with as much species and data as possible. Such a collection is scientific treasure and I'd like to leave behind something just as special when I pass on.

Day flying butterflies, all families . No moths , no beetles.
I'm not a completist of anything but within a genus I try to get all the species I deem interesting for one reason or another. I usually skip sub-species unless they are truly unique
