I recently acquired a female Papilio polymnestor parinda which is the yellow form. Now, is there a form name for such a great looking non-blue form? Just curious. She is from Sri Lanka. The regular polymnestor is a gorgeous butterfly. This yellow/gold one just blew me away I can post a pic later on in the week when she arrives. Thanks ahead of time.

Next, the 'yellow form' female. So, is there a name for this color variation? Adam C., perhaps you'll read this.

Bill,
I've read your thread several times, and have looked into the form names, but cannot find a name specifically for the yellow form of the female. In fact there are very few names for polymnestor at all. There are only 4 names for the species: polymnestor Cramer, 1775; parinda Moore, 1881; weinbergi Ehrmann, 1921; and boelschei Niepelt, 1922. The last name was described from a southern Indian specimen, and unfortunately I have not seen a copy of Ehrmann's description of weinbergi, which does come from Sri Lanka, so I do not know if he described this from the yellow form of the female or not.
Adam.

Adam, thanks for checking.
I am figuring that if you are not aware of such a form name, then it is likely that none exist. I was just curious because I was so taken by her. She really stands out in the drawer of the typically-colored ones.
I looked a fair bit into this. It appears (correct me if I'm wrong) that they are not all that rare where they fly, but getting them out of country is tough. When I bought this girl, the seller told me they were quite rare. I have to say that I've never seen one for sale here in the USA until now. Even world-wide, only one other seller has them....that I can find.
Again, thanks for looking into this for me.
