I live in Columbus Ohio. There have been a couple of these floating around our back deck. I'm pretty sure they fly also. This picture was taken yesterday May 26th. Also I have more pictures but the forum only lets me attach 1. I have a couple side shots and another on close up from on top. Sorry if the quality isn't all there. I can take a dead one and photograph the underside if it would help in identifying it. Thanks! Attachments:

Here is a side view. Any and all help would be appreciated. My wife is worried that they are poisonous and can/will bite. I told her its not a big deal and probably not, but it would help put her mind at rest to show her some information about the species. Thanks Again! Attachments:

They are June beetles (Coleoptera,Melolonthinae) and are absolutely not poisonous or harmful for human - so no worries . They just fly to lights at night. Thanos

The genus is Phyllophaga .
