I was talking to some one about beetles and he gave me his business card. The guy sells firewood. He told me that every time he cuts fire wood, there are lots and lots of beetles in the dead wood. He said I could have them if I picked them up. If you have a firewood dealer in your area, it might be a good idea to contact him or her.

Very good tip. Thanks! Probably good to look around logging operations as well, with permission of course!

i had such similar experiences before. not only firewood men, but also many other farmers. they described the appearance of insects to me. but seldomly see they have things on hands. a bit funny. this way is not very reliable. go and to collect when correct time this perhaps workers better. most people don't interest insects collection/breeding.

Although in Florida, I live in a densely populated area. I'll have to visit his place and see if there are any there.
