I have found four of these caterpillars last week on a bush at Costa Brava, Spain. Does anybody know what it is? The length was around 6 cm. Hannes Attachments:

Hello Hannes, This is the magnificent caterpillar of Apopestes spectrum , a large,shiny-brown Noctuidae moth.I've collected a few adults here in Greece, but never found their beautiful caterpillars. (Damn..!Many loading problems......!I re-wrote about 5 times this message...really irritating..!) Thanos

Thank you for the identification! Unfortunately I had no time to breed them.
