Hey all,
I have a pair of C. Regalis, they will NOT mate.. I dunno why... They're in a small(ish) cage, in a well ventilated area, but the female spends most of the time laying infertile eggs and ignoring the male.. any suggestions? Is the mating time quick? Could the eggs be fertile and I missed it?
Thanks, Teá

You may have missed it. They mate late at night, like around midnight and well after all the birds have gone to roost.

Actually, I think that he's referring to Citheronia regalis ( Saturniidae) from the U.S.A, not the Buprestid, Calodema regalis. That's why it's best to spell out the generic name in full, so that confusion doesn't occur. Jeff Prill
