Hi All,
Just to warn everybody about some new practices in Cameroon.
To make a long story short:
1. I got an offer for M.torquata, Ch.polyphemus and some other common beetles from Wilma Monono, Cameroon.
2. I agreed to buy +80mm M.torquata, as I dont need any other insects from Cameroon at the moment especially small size common species.
3. I received email informing that ALL the stock the person had was sent to me.
4. I clearly offered to return the parcel by not picking it up from customs. Then it would be returned automatically and very quickly.
5. The sender asked me several times to take all the beetles. I offered to take them for a symbolic amount of money. She agreed.
6. After getting the parcel it came out the beetles were not packed separately, but just thrown altogether in one plastic box, so it is not difficult to guess it took me a while to check them all.
7. In the meantime I got almost 100 emails from Wilma, not understanding that I have to check material before sending payment.
8. She asked to send money to Maurice Zama(she said he was a brother) or to Enalda Brown Hilda Lisonge (sister?). I was not really sure to do that, but she insisted saying she can not go to Western Union in person.
9. Finally I sent 230 Euros to Maurice Zama, the transfer was received.
10. After about a week, I got another email from her (from different email address) saying she wants the money again, as someone hacked her mailbox and took her money from WU...
11. For me 2 solutions are possible: she either wants to take more money from me for the beetles, or what can be more interesting - Cameroonians started to steal from each other.
I just warn everyone not to send any money to Cameroon not only in advance, but also to different names that the name of the sender. Whatever the story is told, you never know what the truth is.
Clearly I can not take responsibility if the mailbox in Cameroon is hacked - everyone has his own business facilities and takes responsibility for them, and I don't believe any Cameroonian would care if my mailbox is hacked and informations stolen.
Of course I can never be sure if the mailbox was really hacked, or it is simply a demand for more money.
Short conclusion - be extremely careful with all Cameroon made business, which was probably said in this forum thousands times before...
Best regards
Karol
