A friend who has a farm close to me told me that his cherry trees are all infested with millions of little (about 6 mm long), green caterpillars. The caterpillars hang on the silk they produce and land on who/what-ever happens to walk close to the trees and this way, and by the wind, are carried from the infested trees to everywhere. The infestation is wide-spread in this area. What insect species larvae are those caterpillars? I live in the West Kootenay, BC, Canada. Attachments:
