I'm 99% certain that the 'Moroccan' pair is ssp. atticus (Greece).

"I'm 99% certain that the 'Moroccan' pair is ssp. atticus (Greece)". Correct, senior moment, sorry for the confusion.

When I see great specimens like these it just reminds me of how poor our butterfly fauna is here in the UK.

which ssp. is this one? you can see the data in the photo, but the species was listed on the paper was: Papilio alexanor destelensis although i have a feeling this is incorrect. Attachments:

As it's from Greece it should be ssp. atticus. Ssp. destelensis only comes from the area of Sainte-Anne-d'Evenos in Var, S. France.

Sorry, I should have excluded the eastern Greek islands from my previous reply. Ssp. atticus occurs on mainland Greece and islands to the west.
The islands of Samos, Lesbos and Nysiros near to Turkey are populated by ssp. eitschbergeri as Jean-Marc points out.

The subspecies in Croatia is atticus, the same as in Greece.
