They're weevils for sure. Not my area, no idea what kind. Could they be escaping inclement weather of some kind? In Florida we get home-invasions of insects that aren't usually indoors when it gets very hot or when it rains heavily for extended periods. Wood roaches are the most common but really anything else will seek shelter when confronted with death by drowning or over-heating.
Good luck! Some weevils can be a real beast to eradicate.

well, what you have there is a grain weevil (Sitophilus granarius.) Also called the Wheat weevil, these creatures can cause massive harm to wheat stores. I have heard of one way to rid yourself of them. What you first need to do is find the place they are entering, then purchase A pump miracle grow sprayer (this can be found at any garden center in walmart, lowes or home depot) measure out 2 cups of water and pour about 4% bleach per cup. Then take a moth-ball packet and disolve it inside the bleach and water solution (this should take about 2 hours to disolve completly.) once the mothball has completly disolved in the water, pump up the sprayer and alpy to infested area. PLEASE! this solution is HIGHLY TOXIC! do not allow children around sprayed area for atleast 12 hours!
hope I could help! ;D Luke
